BuddaPark is an Independent Rapper based on Soundcloud and is known for his quirky, unique and punchy, artistic style. He mostly draws his inspiration from American Rap Icons, but draws from Japanese references and culture, as he used to be based in Japan in his formative years.

I decided to start with a logo of his name and then translated it into Japanese characters. I placed an outline around the name as a callback to signature seals or name stamps that were used in old Japan. Then I gave the seal a neon sign treatment as most cities in Japan such as Tokyo and Shibuya are speckled with neon lights at night; Giving the city a warm glow.
