I made these Images as a Visual Language for a cultural A to Z on Puerto Rico. The images consist of important locations and visual history of Puerto Rico while using the color and style of Vejigante masks. Vejigante masks are a cultural artifact important to Puerto Rico's history. The masks are used as a representation of the battle between good and evil and are used during festivals and parades. The masks originally came from Spain, but were brought to the Island when it was colonized by Spaniards.
